Congratulations to Ted Culley who has skydived from 19,000ft and raised nearly $19,000 in the 'Drop Your Boss Skydive' fundraiser.
Ted, the Processing General Manager at seafood company Sanford, says they support the Kiwi-Can programme run by the Foundation for Youth Development. He raised $10,000 in a previous Drop Your Boss fundraiser where they abseiled off city buildings and says he wouldn't have done a skydive if it wasn't for their charity but ended up loving the experience.
"It was AWESOME! Tandem skydiving has taken Drop your Boss to new heights, and especially with the 19,000 foot jump at Franz," says Ted. "Simply how do you beat that for a dive anywhere in the country with stunning scenery and back drop of the alps."
Ted says getting to the door was the hardest part.
"My heart was in my throat but once I was in the air it was extremely exhilarating," says Ted.
~ Well done on raising such a huge amount Ted, and thanks for jumping with us here at Skydive Franz.
About Ted's chosen charity:
Kiwi Can is a values and life-skills programme for primary students. It teaches important concepts such as respect, resilience and integrity in weekly lessons throughout the year. Research shows that Kiwi Can builds self-confidence, reduces bullying and reinforces positive behaviour. See www.fyd.org.nz/kiwican for more details.
